At St. Matthew’s we believe that we are called by Jesus Christ to be generous givers. In order to answer the call of Christ the entire congregation is asked to make a yearly commitment to our operating fund which supports our missions and ministries.
We give because God first gave so many gifts to us – including the all-important gift of eternal life. Giving to God is a way to build a closer relationship with God. We give out of love. To continue to grow spiritually and be in relationship with God we MUST give.
We believe the finest hours of being Christian occur when we respond generously. Giving generously is something United Methodists do. We give because, together, we can do what no one individual or congregation can do separately. We do mission and ministry best when we do it together. We give to change lives!
Here is a list of the ongoing missions and ministries that are supported by generous giving at St. Matthew's:
St. Matthew’s Youth and Children’s ministries, fostering a Christian community where youth and children can discover their faith, grow in their relationship with God, and make a difference in the world.
Inspiring communal worship.
Uplifting music programs for all ages where every one of us is invited to perform or participate.
Christian instruction and study for all ages.
Our physical structure, the focus for our faith, where we come together in praise to support the missions and ministries of our church and find joy in the fellowship of others.
