Since we are unable to gather and give the Houghs a warm St. Matthew's sendoff due to COVID-19 restrictions, SPRC is hosting a Drive by Parade so each family can extend their best wishes and thank you for Pastor Neil's 6 years of ministry at St. Matthew's.
The entire St. Matthew's community is invited to drive by the front of the church where Neil and Anne will be seated and bid them goodbye and best wishes. Lots of decorations, signs, balloons etc. are encouraged. There will be a basket to drop off any cards or gifts. Let's make this a very festive sendoff!
Logistics: We are asking that last names beginning with A through L come between 4:00 and 5:00 and M through Z between 5:00 and 6:00 if possible. The traffic pattern will be Little River Turnpike to Wakefield Drive to right on Virginia Avenue entering the church parking lot at the handicapped entrance. Cars will proceed around the church to the front where the Houghs will be seated (under a tent). Please drive slowly past, but we are asking that you only pause for a moment. We will need to keep the traffic moving! Please do not stop and park your car in the front. Volunteers will be directing you.
*SPRC will be presenting the Love Offering to Pastor Neil that afternoon. There's still time to make your contribution if you haven't done so already. Please mail it to: St. Matthew’s UMC, 8617 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003. Please write Hough Love Offering in the memo section of the check.
