FALL FESTIVAL

Including Trunk or Treat, Petting Zoo, and Free Food

Join us for an afternoon filled with fall fun on October 24 from 2-4 PM. We will have a live petting zoo, food, and Trunk or Treating.

We invite church families and groups to be a part of the festivities by hosting a trunk (or parking space). Hosting a trunk involves decorating the trunk of your car and providing candy/treats for trick-or-treaters. There are lots of great trunk decorating ideas online. Your trunk decor might have a Halloween theme with your trunk filled with mummies or pumpkins. Other popular choices include decorating with children’s TV or movie characters or setting a scene, like the old west or a campsite. Both Amazon and Oriental Trading Company sell Trunk or Treat decorating kits. Families, church committees, circles, choirs, Sunday School classes, other church groups, and individuals are all encouraged to host a trunk. Prizes for the best trunks will be awarded, challenge your church family to some friendly competition.

Children will go trunk to trunk collecting treats, please consider allergies as you select your goodies to share (small toys, stickers, etc are always appreciated). The church will be collecting candy and other treats to supplement what is brought by Trunk hosts. If you would like to donate items, an Amazon Wish List can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/JIVL26YBSYTX?ref_=wl_share .

If you prefer to drop off donations, a bin will be available inside the church's front doors.

Trunk hosts should plan to arrive by 1:30 PM on Sunday, October 24 to start decorating your trunk or space. Vehicles need to be parked and in place for everyone's safety well before the first children arrive for Trunk or Treating. Staff will be onsite to help assign spots. To host a trunk please sign-up here Children's Ministry: Trunk or Treat (signupgenius.com).

Everyone will need to bring a mask to wear when social distancing is not possible.

Thank you for helping to create a special event for the children of St. Matthew's and our wider community! If you have any questions, please reach out to Ruth Anne Luckenbaugh at RALuckenbaugh@stmatthewsumc.org
