Hypothermia Shelter Week

Hypothermia Shelter Week

February 23rd -March 2nd

Beginning Sunday, February 23rd through March 2nd, St. Matthew's will partner with FACETS to house those who need overnight shelter from the winter elements in Fairfax County. We will open our doors at 5:00 p.m. nightly to provide up to 49 guests with a warm, dry, welcoming, safe place to sleep, a hot dinner, snacks, beverages, breakfast in the morning and lunch items. Our guests will depart by 7:00 a.m. Many hands are needed to make this week successful! Please consider helping with this mission by volunteering your time, providing a meal, donating food items, or providing monetary assistance. There will be an information meeting to go over the duties and answer any questions you may have concerning the program. We have created three signup genius’: one for perishable food items and paper products, one for non-perishable food items, and one for volunteering for shifts during the evening hours and to make meals. To make a monetary contribution, you may use online giving - using the Hypo identifier.

Sunday, February 2nd - Toothbrushes and Toothpaste (travel size)

Do you have a talent such as playing the guitar or another instrument, singing, hair cuts, etc – and would care to share this with our guests one evening? Please let us know.
